Independent Financial Advice

During this time of economic uncertainty, combined with recent events like the Royal Commission and ongoing scandals within big businesses, respected commentators like Scott Pape and Alan Kohler, as well as numerous consumer websites, are recommending that when people need financial advice they seek independent financial advice.

The key word here is ‘independent’. So, what does it mean in the context of financial advice?

Independent financial advice can be defined broadly as advice that is impartial, unbiased, without any potential for a conflict of interest and solely with the client’s best interests at heart.

It would be nice to think that every financial adviser in the country could lay claim to those things, but there are actually very few who can.

In fact, SuperGuide has a list of independent financial advisers on their website and it lists just five in regional NSW and only one in the Central West, Daniel McGregor, who runs an Orange-based business called Wealth Train. (You can find the list here.)

Wealth Train is all about helping people maximise their financial fitness.

Why is this important? Put simply, financial literacy is not high because money skills are not taught at school, or at least not well enough to equip people with the money skills they need.

This means there is a significant need for financial advice in Australia.

As it turns out, most people would prefer independent financial advice. The problem has been finding independent advice!

It’s why Wealth Train exists and it’s here in the Central West.

You could spend the next umpteen years fumbling around with what might work or you could engage a professional financial adviser to help you navigate the way forward.

If you think you could benefit from financial advice and value independence, then Wealth Train is currently taking on board new clients.

Life is a long choose-your-own adventure book and when it comes to money, choosing which path to go down is much easier with an expert there to guide you down the right path.

Take the guess work out of financial decision making and put yourself in the driver’s seat.
