What if you were going to die tomorrow?

What would you do today?
Well, there’s probably a long list you could write, but if you have a partner and/or kids who rely on your income then making sure you have enough life insurance in place to provide for them financially should be right at the top of that list. Most days of the week I think my wife and children would be sad to see me go, so the last thing I’d want in the event of that happening would be for them to have to worry about money while missing my fun company, good looks and sharp wit.
If you haven’t got adequate life insurance in place, then assume you are going to die tomorrow and do something about it today.
Chances are you will live to a ripe old age and although one day you will die, it will be long after you’ve needed life insurance. However, if you never have to claim on it then it means you’ve had better luck than many. It means you’ve lived a long and hopefully happy life. It’s no different to insuring your home. You don’t insure your home in case a window breaks, you insure it in case it burns to the ground. If your house never burns to the ground then that’s great, but you still needed insurance just in case. The concept with life insurance is the same… you hope you won’t die young (or youngish) but can you afford to take the chance that it might happen and leave your family exposed to financial ruin?
You’d give your life for your partner and kids, so why not insure it?
Cheers,
Daniel
